Introduction
Some customers may complain that the instrument panel appears off center. A field fix has been developed to improve this condition.
Applicable Vehicles
2003 - 2005 model year Corolla vehicles.

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
Repair Procedure
NOTE:
For additional information, refer to the Technical Information System (TIS) 2005 model year Corolla Repair Manual: Instrument Panel/Meter, Instrument Panel Sub-Assy Lower.
1. Disconnect Negative Battery Cable.
2. Remove Instrument Panel Register LH and RH Side.
A. Using a plastic pry tool, disengage the 4 claws and remove the register.
3. Remove the Screw Behind Each Register.
4. Remove Meter Hood Sub-assembly.
A. Remove clip.
B. Disengage the 7 claws.
5. Remove Screw from Combination Meter Assembly.
6. Remove Console Panel Upper.
A. Disengage the 6 claws.
B. Disconnect the connector and remove the console panel upper.
7. Remove Fan Speed Control Knob.
8. Remove Screw.
9. Remove Instrument Cluster Finish Panel.
A. Disengage the 4 clips and 4 claws.
B. Disconnect the connectors and remove the instrument cluster finish panel.
10. Remove Instrument Cluster Finish Panel Sub-assembly Center and Radio Receiver Assembly.
A. Remove the 4 screws.
B. Disengage the 2 clips and the 4 claws.
C. Disconnect the connectors and remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly center and radio receiver assembly.
11. Remove Glove Compartment Door Assembly.
A. Remove the screw from the glove compartment door stopper assembly.
B. Deform (pull in) the upper part of the glove compartment door assembly to release the stoppers.
C. Pull the glove compartment door assembly upward to remove it.
12. Remove the Air Bag Bolt. Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
13. Remove LH and RH "A"-Pillar Garnishes.
A. Disengage the clip.
B. Pull the front pillar garnish upward and disengage the 2 claws.
14. Push Instrument Panel to Either the Left or Right to Re-center.
15. Reassemble in Reverse Order.
