Title:
AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK (ADL)
FUNCTION

Models:
'05 Solara

October 12, 2004

Introduction
2005 model year vehicles equipped with Automatic Transmission and Power Door Locks feature an Automatic Door Lock (ADL) function that locks all doors when the shift lever is moved from "P" to "D." When the shift lever is returned to "P," the door locks can be set to remain locked (Mode A or C) or unlock automatically (Mode B). Details on the ADL function and all available modes can be found in the Owner's Manual.

To standardize the ADL function across all model lines, it should be initialized to automatically unlock when the shift lever is returned to "P" (Mode B) during Pre-Delivery Service (PDS).

NOTE:
FOR SE MODELS ONLY:

When the battery is disconnected, the ADL mode returns to the default setting (Mode A). The following procedure must be used to set the ADL function to Mode B whenever the battery has been disconnected.
