Variable Valve Timing Actuator Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT

1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
2. REMOVE VVT SENSOR




a. Intake camshaft (Bank 1).
1. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.
2. Remove the bolt and the VVT sensor.




b. Exhaust camshaft (Bank 1).
1. Remove the windshield wiper link assembly
2. Remove the cowl top outside panel front
3. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.
4. Remove the bolt and the VVT sensor.




c. Exhaust camshaft (Bank 2).
1. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.
2. Remove the bolt and the VVT sensor.




d. Intake camshaft (Bank 2).
1. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector.
2. Remove the bolt and the VVT sensor.

3. INSTALL VVT SENSOR




a. Intake camshaft (Bank 2).
1. Install the sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)

2. Connect the VVT sensor connector.




b. Exhaust camshaft (Bank 2).
1. Install the sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)

2. Connect the VVT sensor connector.




c. Exhaust camshaft (Bank 1).
1. Install the sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)

2. Connect the VVT sensor connector.
3. Install the cowl top outside panel front
4. Install the windshield wiper link assembly




d. Intake camshaft (Bank 1).
1. Install the sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)

2. Connect the VVT sensor connector.

4. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
