INTRODUCTION:
Some customers may experience multiple warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel, vehicle not shifting from Park to Drive, and/or other accessories becoming inoperative after the vehicle has cold soaked in sub-freezing (below -10°C [14°F]) ambient air temperatures. A new relay and wire harness have been made available to correct this condition. Use the following procedure to address this concern.

CAUTION
Work must not be started less than 90 seconds AFTER the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery. The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source. If work is started within 90 seconds from disconnecting the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may deploy.


1. Remove the knee airbag.

2. Remove the IG1 Relay from the junction block.












3. Install the new IG1 Relay.
A. Install the new IG1 relay to the end of the sub-harness.
B. Install the other end of the harness to the junction block.
C. Route the harness according to Figures 2 and 3.
D. Using wire ties, secure the harness and the relay.

NOTE
Do NOT attach the wire tie to an unprotected wire.


4. Reinstall the knee airbag.

5. Connect ETAS Techstream and clear any stored DTCs.
6. Initialize power systems (windows, moonroof, etc.). Refer to appropriate service bulletin.
7. Confirm repair.
