Introduction

Some vehicles may exhibit a condition where the rear door window switch base lifting on the door trim armrest. On some vehicles the armrest material interferes with the switch base. Use the repair procedure below to improve this condition.

Warranty Information

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.





Required Tools & Equipment

Repair Procedure

1. Remove the door trim switch base.





A. Using a plastic pry tool disengage the 2 clips and 4 claws and then remove the armrest base panel upper with the power window regulator master switch.

B. Disconnect the switch connector.





2. Using a sharp knife add relief cuts to the rear corners of the door trim armrest opening for the switch base as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE

Be careful NOT to cut all the way to the corner of the armrest opening. This will cause a poor appearance if the slit is visible when the switch base is installed.

3. Reinstall the door trim switch base and ensure a proper fit.
