Repair of Rear Isolator Gasket Coming Off on Currently Installed Spoiler.

Repair Procedure I:
1. Make sure the spoiler and the surrounding area on the trunk lid are clean.

2. Apply masking tape on the trunk lid immediately below the rear of the spoiler and on the back side of the spoiler as shown to protect the paint from being scratched. Apply the masking tape along the entire length of the trunk lid and the spoiler.

3. Measure 150 mm (5.9 in.) from the edge of the trunk lid and apply masking tape on the trunk lid just below the spoiler. Repeat for the opposite side.

4. Remove and discard the center section of the rear isolator gasket in between the two pieces of masking tape applied in step 3.

A. Using the palm of your hand gently lift up the rear portion of the spoiler and insert the flat side of the plastic pry tool between the spoiler and the trunk lid to create a gap no larger than 6 mm (0.24 in.).

CAUTION:
Be aware of the spoiler mounting locations (two [2] outer bolts and three [3] inner spring clips) and insert the plastic pry tool in between the mounting locations to avoid any damage to the spoiler or mounting locations.

B. Using the 2nd plastic pry tool, remove and discard the isolator gasket in between the two pieces of masking tape applied in step 3.

Repair Procedure II:

Modifying the Rear Isolator Prior to New Spoiler Installation.

1. Measure 35 mm (1.38 in.) inboard from the center of the stud and cut the isolator.
2. Repeat step 1 on the opposite side.

3. Remove and discard the center portion of the rear isolator gasket between the two cut locations.
4. Proceed with normal installation process.
