Component Tightening Specifications and Sequences

CYLINDER HEAD
For torque and sequence see the service procedure provided at Cylinder Head Assembly; Service and Repair. Service and Repair
Maximum warpage
0.05 mm (0.0020 inch) for cylinder block side
0.10 mm (0.0039 inch) for intake manifold side
0.10 mm (0.0039 inch) for exhaust manifold side

CYLINDER HEAD SET BOLT
Standard length: 146.8 to 148.2 mm (5.780 to 5.835 inch)
Maximum length: 148.5 mm (5.846 inch)

INTAKE MANIFOLD




Install the intake manifold and throttle body with the 2 brackets, 4 bolts and 2 nuts.
Torque: 30 Nm (306 kgf-cm, 22 ft. lbs.)

CAMSHAFT BEARING CAP




Examine the front marks and numbers and check that the sequence order is as shown in the illustration, then tighten the bolts.
Torque:
23 Nm (235 kgf-cm, 17 ft. lbs.) for bearing cap No.1
13 Nm (133 kgf-cm, 10 ft. lbs.) for bearing cap No.3

MAIN BEARING CAP




Tighten the bolts to the specified torque in several passes in the sequence shown.
Step 1: 44 Nm (449 kgf-cm, 33 ft. lbs.)
Step 2: Retighten bolts 90°.


ROD BEARING CAP
Using SST, tighten the bolts in several passes to the specified torque.
SST 09205-16010
Step 1: 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft. lbs.)
Step 2: Retighten bolts 90°.


CRANKSHAFT PULLEY
Torque: 138 Nm (1,407 kgf-cm, 102 ft. lbs.)

DRIVE PLATE




Using several steps, install and tighten the 8 bolts uniformly in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque: 88 Nm (897 kgf-cm, 65 ft. lbs.)

FLYWHEEL




Using several steps, uniformly install and tighten the 8 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque: 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft. lbs.)

OIL PUMP
Torque: 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 inch lbs.)

EXHAUST MANIFOLD




Install a new gasket and the exhaust manifold with the 5 nuts.
Torque: 37 Nm (377 kgf-cm, 27 ft. lbs.)

WATER PUMP




Install the water pump with the 6 bolts.
Torque for bolt A: 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 inch lbs.)
Torque for bolt B: 11 Nm (112 kgf-cm, 8 ft. lbs.)
