INSPECTION

1. THERMISTOR, COOLER
a. Check resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of cooler thermistor No. 1 at each temperature, as shown in the chart.

Resistance:
If resistance value is not as specified, replace the sensor.

2. AIR CONDITIONER CONTROL ASSEMBLY

Resistance:

a. Inspect blower switch.
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the air conditioner control assembly.

b. Inspect illumination operation.
(1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 8 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3, then check that the illuminations light up. If the bulb does not light up, replace the bulb.

Resistance:

c. Inspect defroster mode switch.
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the air conditioner control assembly.

3. COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

Resistance:

a. Inspect A/C switch.
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.

b. Inspect indicator operation.
(1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 8 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 10 while the A/C switch is pressed, then check that the illuminations light up. If operation is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.

Resistance:

c. Inspect R/F switch.
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.

d. Inspect indicator operation.
(1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 4, then check that the indicator lights up. If operation is not as specified, replace the combination switch assembly.
e. Inspect illumination operation.
(1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 7 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 5, then check that the illuminations light up. If the bulb does not light up, replace the bulb.

Resistance:

4. BLOWER RESISTOR
a. Measure resistance between terminals, as shown in the chart.
If resistance is not as specified, replace the blower resistor.

5. BLOWER W/FAN MOTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and negative (-) to terminal 1, then check that the motor operation smoothly.
If operation is not as specified, replace the blower motor.

6. HEATER BLOWER MOTOR RELAY ASSEMBLY

Resistance:

a. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the heater blower motor relay assembly.

7. MAGNETIC CLUTCH RELAY

Resistance:

a. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table.
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the magnetic clutch relay.
