TSB REVISION NOTICE:
- March 02, 2006: 2006 model year has been added to Applicable Vehicles.
The previous TSB should be discarded.

INTRODUCTION:
Some customers may complain of excessive sulphur odour on 2005 - 2006 model year Matrix vehicles equipped with the 1ZZ -F E engine under the following conditions:
- Stop and go driving.
- Heavy acceleration.

In order to reduce the sulphur odour, a new front catalytic converter has been made available. Follow the repair procedure to replace the catalytic converter assembly.

NOTE:
For more complete understanding of the root cause, refer to TSB No. 1212, "Sulphur Odour from Exhaust."

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2005 - 2006 model year Matrix vehicles equipped with the 1ZZ-FE engine.

Refer to ETAS: 2005 or 2006 model year Matrix Repair Manual: Exhaust: Exhaust Pipe Assy (1ZZ-FE).
