Body Structure

Lightweight and High Rigid Body

1. High Strength Sheet Steel

The body of the '04 Camry Solara has been made lightweight and highly rigid through the refinement of the shape and construction of each part, optimized allocation of reinforcements and members, and use of high strength and bake-hardened sheet steel.

2. Body Shell

Reinforcements have been efficiently placed on the rockers, roof side rails, and inside the center pillars to ensure proper body rigidity. As a result, road noise and vibration have been reduced and driving stability has been ensured.

3. Front and Rear Sub-frames

^ A front sub-frame shaped without an opening has been adopted. The four corners of the sub-frame are bolted to the body as illustrated, in order to ensure a high level of body rigidity. As a result, noise and vibration have been reduced.

^ A wide, rear sub-frame has been adopted, in order to provide a high level of rigidity in the same way as the front sub-frame.
