Introduction

2006 model year Solara vehicles equipped with automatic transmission and power door locks feature Automatic Door Locking (ADL) and Automatic Door Unlocking (ADU) functions. The door locks can be set to lock and unlock linked with the shift position. Details on the automatic door lock and unlock functions can be found in the Owner's Manual.

To standardize the ADL and ADU functions across all model lines, the ADL default setting from the factory should be confirmed and the ADU function set during the Pre-Delivery Service (PDS). The factory default setting automatically locks all doors when the shift lever is moved out of the "P" position.

NOTE:
FOR SE MODELS ONLY:

When the battery is disconnected, the ADU function returns to the default setting. The following procedure must be used to set the ADU function whenever the battery has been disconnected.

Automatic Door Lock Procedure

Perform the following procedure to set the automatic door locking function (ADL).

1. Set the parking brake.

2. Move the shift lever into the "P" position and close all doors.

3. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.





4. Within 10 seconds of turning the ignition to the "ON" position, press and hold the driver's side power door lock switch in the lock position (front side) for 5 seconds and then release.

All doors will automatically lock and unlock when you release the power door lock switch.

^ This indicates that the ADL function is set. If all doors do not lock and unlock, the time the switch was held may have been too short or too long. Perform the procedure over again starting from step 1.

Automatic Door Unlock Procedure

Perform the following procedure to set the automatic door unlocking function (ADU).

1. Set the parking brake.

2. Move the shift lever into the "P" position and close all doors.

3. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.





4. Within 10 seconds of turning the ignition to the "ON" position, press and hold the driver's side power door lock switch in the unlock position (rear side) for 5 seconds and then release. All doors will automatically lock and unlock when you release the power door lock switch.

^ This indicates that the ADU function is set. If all doors do not lock and unlock, the time the switch was held may have been too short or too long. Perform the procedure over again starting from step 1.
