Introduction





Some 2004 - 2008 model year Solara vehicles may exhibit a condition where the stitching along the sides of the convertible top deteriorates. Use the following repair procedure to address this condition.





Warranty Information

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Repair Procedure

1. Inspect convertible top stitching.








^ If stitching is deteriorating as shown in Figures 1 and 2 continue to step 2. If stitching IS NOT deteriorating as shown this TSB DOES NOT apply.

2. If stitching is deteriorating at any location on right or left side of convertible top replace the stitching on BOTH sides of the top.

NOTE

Sublet to a qualified upholstery shop to replace ALL of the stitching on BOTH sides of the convertible top using "UV stable" thread.
