Introduction





Some customers may experience a thump noise coming from a combination of the rear upper supports and rear shock absorbers when traveling over bumps or rough road surfaces. Updated rear upper supports and rear shock absorber service parts are available to improve the noise condition.

Applicable Vehicles

2004 - 2006 model year Solara vehicles.





Warranty Information

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Repair Procedure





1. Conduct a road test to verify the noise condition.

2. Remove and replace both rear upper supports and both rear shock absorbers by following the procedures in the Technical Information System (TIS):
