Title:
TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE
Component
GENERAL INFORMATION
Models
'08 Solara
INTRODUCTION:
The 2008 model year Solara is equipped with a direct type Tire Pressure Warning System (TPWS). A tire pressure sensing transmitter is built into each tire valve (including full size spare), and the measured tire pressure data is transmitted through a Tire Pressure Warning System antenna to the tire pressure monitoring system receiver.
NOTE:
The tire pressure sensing transmitters are activated at the manufacturing plant, and therefore ONLY require the TPWS to be initialized.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2008 model year Solara vehicles.
WARRANTY INFORMATION:
INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE:
1. Adjust the tire pressure to the specified level as indicated on the Tire and Loading Information label on the vehicle. Check that the Low Tire Pressure Warning Light is OFF.
2. Remove the ID number labels that are attached to each wheel and place the labels in the glove box.
NOTE:
- If there is great difference between the current temperature of the tire and wheel (for example: shop temperature) and expected temperature (for example: outdoor temperature), this needs to be considered when adjusting the tire pressure.
- Adjust the tire pressure when the tires are cold.
