INTRODUCTION:

Some customers may notice a noise in the auxiliary mode of their audio system when using an MP3 player or other external audio source connected to the 12V power port on vehicles equipped with the Toyota Navigation System. An improved auxiliary port and in-line filter has been developed to improve this condition. Use the repair procedure below to install the new in-line filter and auxiliary port.

NOTE
Items 2, 3, and 4 are needed for all vehicles. Item 1 in Figure 1, Adapter Assembly, Stereo (Mini Jack), does not need to be replaced.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Remove the existing auxiliary port terminal from the vehicle.

2. Install wire harness, noise filter, and condenser wire harness.
A. Connect the vehicle wire connector (4P) into the additional wire condenser (wire harness), part number 86237-34010.
B. Plug into condenser (noise filter).
C. Connect wire, condenser (wire harness), part number 86237-33010, to the other side of the noise filter.







D. Secure the filter to the vehicle wire harness using wire ties (see example illustration shown in Figure 2).
E. Reinstall the auxiliary port.

3. Reassemble the vehicle in reverse order of disassembly.
4. Confirm there is no noise from the auxiliary port.
