INTRODUCTION

Some 2007 - 2008 model year Avalon, Camry, Camry HV, and Solara vehicles may exhibit a steering wheel flutter and/or a body vibration (floor or seats) at highway speeds (approximately 105 - 121 km/h). This TSB includes diagnostic information, repair information, and updated parts information to address the customer's concern.

NOTE
Prior to determining if the suggested parts are necessary, verify that the vibration remains after confirming the appropriate diagnostic steps from the Suspension System Problem Symptoms Table (refer to the Repair Manual sections noted in step 3 of the Repair Procedure in this bulletin).

This TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.


NOTE
- For Camry L4 and Camry V6 built at TMMK, the underlined number in the VIN (12th digit) represents plant assembly line code and is necessary to properly identify Production Change Effective VIN (0 - 4 = Line 1, 5 - 9 = Line 2).
- For Camry L4 built at SIA, the 3rd digit is "4" and the 10th digit is "R".
- The 9th digit of the VIN ("#") is used as a wild card (digit is not pertinent for applicability).

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Visually check the tires and wheels, axle, and suspension for any concerns (damage, looseness, etc.).
2. Test drive the vehicle and confirm the customer's concern and vehicle condition.
3. Once the condition has been confirmed, refer to the applicable diagnostic steps below.
A. Identify the condition in the Problem Symptoms Table.

C. Inspect the tire.

NOTE
- The specification for tire and wheel assembly uniformity for Radial Force Variation (RFV) = 60 N-m (13.5 ft-lbf).
- When performing a tire/wheel balance, the Haweka Flange Plate Kit, or an equivalent flange kit and the proper centering cone are required.


4. If the vibration condition remains after referring to the applicable diagnostics steps and/or repairs, then replace both front hub assemblies.

5. Road test the vehicle to confirm that the vibration is NO longer present.
