Doors, Hood and Trunk: Adjustments






ADJUSTMENT

1. INSPECT HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Check that the clearance measurements are within the standard ranges.










HINT: Centering bolts are used to mount the hood hinge and the hood lock. The hood and the hood lock cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts in. Substitute standard bolts (with washers) for the centering bolts when making adjustments.

2. ADJUST HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY







a. Loosen the 4 hood side hinge bolts.
b. Move the hood to adjust the clearance to within the standard range.
c. Tighten the 4 hood side hinge bolts after the adjustment.

Torque: 13 N.m (133 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)







d. Adjust the height of the hood front end by turning the 2 center hood cushions.

HINT: The center hood cushion can be raised and lowered by turning it.

e. Adjust the hood lock.







1. Loosen the 3 bolts.
2. Adjust the hood lock position so that the striker can enter it smoothly.
3. Tighten the 3 bolts after the adjustment.

Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf)

3. INSPECT FRONT DOOR

a. Check that the clearance measurements are within the standard ranges.










HINT: Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge onto the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts in. Substitute standard bolts (with washers) for the centering bolts when making adjustments.

4. ADJUST FRONT DOOR

NOTICE: Make sure that the ignition switch is always OFF during adjusting door lock strikers.







a. Using SST, adjust the door horizontally and vertically by loosening the body side hinge bolts.

SST: 09812-00010

b. Tighten the body side hinge bolts after the adjustment.

Torque: 26 N.m (265 kgf.cm, 19 ft.lbf)







c. Using SST, adjust the door horizontally and vertically by loosening the door side hinge bolts.

SST: 09812-00010

d. Tighten the door side hinge bolts after the adjustment.

Torque: 26 N.m (265 kgf.cm, 19 ft.lbf)







e. Using a "TORX" socket wrench T40, adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a plastic-faced hammer.
f. Using a "TORX" socket wrench T40, tighten the striker mounting screws after the adjustment.

Torque: 23 N.m (235 kgf.cm, 17 ft.lbf)

5. INSPECT REAR DOOR

a. Check that the clearance measurements are within the standard ranges.










HINT: Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge onto the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts in. Substitute standard bolts (with washers) for the centering bolts when making adjustments.

6. ADJUST REAR DOOR

NOTICE: Make sure that the ignition switch is always LOCK during adjusting door lock strikers.







a. Using SST, adjust the door horizontally and vertically by loosening the body side hinge bolts.

SST: 09812-00010

b. Tighten the body side hinge bolts after the adjustment.

Torque: 26 N.m (265 kgf.cm, 19 ft.lbf)







c. Using SST, adjust the door horizontally and vertically loosening the door side hinge bolts.

SST: 09812-00010

d. Tighten the door side hinge bolts after the adjustment.

Torque: 26 N.m (265 kgf.cm, 19 ft.lbf)







e. Using a "TORX" socket wrench T40, adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a plastic-faced hammer.

Torque: 23 N.m (235 kgf.cm, 17 ft.lbf)

7. INSPECT BACK DOOR

a. Check that the clearance measurements are within the standard ranges.










HINT: Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge onto the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts in. Substitute standard bolts (with washers) for the centering bolts when making adjustments.

8. ADJUST BACK DOOR







a. Adjust the door position.
1. Horizontally and vertically adjust the door by loosening the door side hinge bolts.

Torque: 19 N.m (194 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)







b. Adjust the striker position.
1. Using a "TORX" socket wrench T40, adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting bolts and hitting the striker with a plastic hammer.
2. Using a "TORX" socket wrench T40, tighten the striker mounting bolts after the adjustment.

Torque: 23 N.m (235 kgf.cm, 17 ft.lbf)
