Condition

Radio cannot be removed from instrument panel using special tools VW160.





Radio anti-theft deterrent device which was not intended for the US market was inadvertently installed on some radios for the US market.

Production

Inspection of radios installed for US market increased.

How It works





The anti-theft device, is screwed onto the stud on the back of the radio, just like the rubber support normally is. It locks into the rear radio mounting bracket.

To remove and install the radio, the anti-theft device must be turned 90~ so that the slot on the plastic mount is in the vertical position.

Note
When the slot is in the horizontal position the radio is in the locked position.
