- Remove six Phillips head door panel attachment screws around the outer edge of the door panel.
- Separate door panel from trim piece at top of door panel starting from either end, not both. DO NOT pull hard, this will cause the door panel to break!

Vapor barrier, removing
- Remove inside door release lower housing by pulling release tab on bottom rear of housing towards you and sliding housing forwards.
- Remove vapor barrier starting from either top edge.
CAUTION
Avoid tearing the vapor barrier. If torn, the vapor barrier will need to be replaced.
Using razor blade, carefully cut vapor barrier around trim panel securing clip retainers.
Note
Scratches in paint caused by cutting the vapor barrier must be repaired with touch up paint to prevent corrosion.
Pull vapor barrier down only as far as needed.
CAUTION
DO NOT remove the vapor barrier completely. This will increase the chances of a water leak.
Note
During reinstallation of the vapor barrier, there must not be any wrinkles in the barrier where it contacts the adhesive. This will cause water to leak onto the door panel and into the vehicle.
