Recall 95V065000: Power Window Hazard

The power operated window system is operable for 10 minutes after the front passenger door is opened which does not comply with the requirements of FMVSS NO. 118, "power-operated window systems." Consequence of non-compliance: The power windows can be accidently closed after the passenger side door is opened which may present a danger to a person at the window. Volkswagen has not submitted a corrective action for this noncompliance.

Note: The manufacturer has petitioned the NHTSA for a determination that this matter is inconsequential with respect to motor vehicle safety. the manufacturer is not obligated to conduct an owner notification and remedy campaign until NHTSA has resolved the petition.
