Vehicle Drifts To One Side

Condition

Vehicle drifts to one side while driving on level road.

Goodyear(R) tires have colored conicity/ply steer marks on the sidewall of each tire. The tire will always push towards the sidewall with the colored marks.

Production

All tires are mounted with colored marks on the inboard side of vehicle (so the conicity/ply steer forces oppose each other).

Service

If vehicle drifts to the right:

- Remove left front wheel, remove tire, flip tire on rim, re-balance and reinstall tire on vehicle.

- Road test vehicle.

If vehicle drifts to the left:

- Remove right front wheel, remove tire, flip tire on rim, re-balance and reinstall tire on vehicle.

- Road test vehicle.

If vehicle still drifts to one side:

- Proceed with conventional diagnostics (alignment check etc.).
