Refer to Fig. 19 throuth 24 when replacing front linkages. Refer to Fig. 26 when replacing rear linkages.
1. Remove cap or cover at base of wiper arms, then remove wiper arm retaining nuts from pivot shafts.
2. Remove wiper arm and blade assemblies. Note Park position of wiper arms for later assembly.
3. On models with front linkages, open hood and remove any panels necessary to gain access to cowl area where wiper motor and linkage are mounted.
4. On models with rear linkages, remove trim panels necessary to access rear wiper assembly.
5. Disconnect wiper motor electrical connector.
6. Remove nuts retaining wiper pivot shaft bushing to panel. Note position of any washers, spacers and seals for later assembly.
7. Remove any bolts/nuts retaining wiper frame assembly.
8. Remove wiper assembly from vehicle. Use caution not to damage seals when withdrawing pivot bushing.
9. Disconnect wiper linkage from motor crank arm and wiper pivot shafts.
10. Noting position of O-rings and washers, remove C-clip from pivot shaft, then slide pivot shaft out of bushings.
11. Remove motor mounting bolts/nuts, then motor.
12. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Prior to installing motor, connect motor to vehicle electrical connector, turn ignition on, then turn wiper on and off to ensure motor is in Park position.
b. Turn ignition off, then disconnect electrical connector.
c. Ensure wiper linkage is in Park position. If necessary, remove and position crank arm on motor to correct alignment.
d. Install motor and mounting bolts/nuts, then torque to 14 ft. lbs.
e. Torque wiper pivot shaft bushing mounting nut to 62 inch lbs.
f. Torque wiper arm mounting nut to 12 ft. lbs.
