Service

Seal plenum closeout panel as follows:

Wiper arms, removing

Note:
Before removing the wiper arms, make sure the wiper motor is in park position. Only then can the wiper arm end position be correctly set when re-installing.





- Pry off black cover caps (arrows) using screwdriver.

- Loosen hex nuts M8 (arrows), but do not remove completely.

^ Torque = 20 Nm

- Move wiper arms lightly until they release.

- Remove hex nuts completely and remove wiper arms.

Cowl panel, removing

Note:
The cowl panel is attached to a window guide underneath the windshield.





- Pull up plenum panel rubber gasket -1- and remove.





- Carefully pry cowl panel off -2- upward.

Plenum closeout panel, removing





- Remove bolts -2-.

- Remove bolt -4-and nut -3- then remove brace -5-.

- Remove closeout panel -1-.

Plenum closeout panel, sealing

- Apply a bead of clear silicone sealant (approx. 6 mm thick) to the edge of plenum panel where panel seals against the body.

- Reinstall plenum closeout panel in reverse order of removal.

Note:
Care must be taken so that the mounting clips on the panel and the body are properly oriented.

- Reinstall cowl panel and wiper arms in reverse order of removal.

- Road test vehicle to ensure wind noise has been eliminated.
