SECTION A - 1.8 LITER 5 VALVE TURBO

Vacuum By-pass Kit 058 198 751 contains the following parts:

Vacuum By-pass Kit 058 198 751 Contains The Following Parts:





1. Vacuum kit -058 133 751F- (includes assembled hoses, and non-return valve).

2. 3 Clamps -N 102 582 01

3. Clamp -N 102 334 01

4. Tie Wrap -N 020 902 2

Removal of vacuum components including hoses

Removal Of Vacuum Components Including Hoses.:





- Turn ignition to off position, and open hood

- Remove 3 Phillips head screws securing coolant reservoir (arrows)

- Disconnect coolant level display connector from the bottom of the coolant reservoir, and move coolant reservoir aside.





- Disconnect air temperature sensor connector -1-

- Remove clamp -2- from cap for side intake manifold port, and remove cap

- Unhook plastic clamp -5- holding hose

- Remove clamp -3- from elbow, and disconnect elbow from rear intake manifold port.

- Remove clamp -6- and disconnect vacuum unit tube

- Remove clamp -4- from crankcase ventilation hose

- Disconnect crankcase hose from vacuum unit and remove vacuum unit with hoses.

- Dispose of removed vacuum unit with hoses and clamps

Installation of brake power assist unit vacuum by-pass kit

Installation Of Brake Power Assist Vacuum By-pass Kit:





- Slide new screw clamp over crankcase hose -4-, connect hose to vacuum unit and set clamp position.

- Slide new screw clamp over vacuum unit tube; insert tube approx. 25 mm (1") into rubber hose -6- and set clamp position.

- Slide new screw clamp over elbow -3-, connect elbow to rear intake manifold port and set clamp position.

- Slide new crimp clamp over hose; connect hose to side intake manifold port -2- and set clamp position.

- Slide plastic clamp -5- over hose and close clamp





- Check position of all hoses (must be free of tension and not contacting engine parts) and tighten all clamps making certain the clamp edges do not contact other hoses.

- Use tie wrap -7- and secure 2 hoses together

- Reconnect air temperature sensor -1-

- Reconnect coolant level display connector to the bottom of the coolant reservoir

- Reinstall coolant reservoir using 3 Phillips head screws (arrows).

- Start engine and check for vacuum leaks

- Close hood
