Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Table: SAE P Codes

NOTE:
- The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) overview is listed according to VAG/SAE P codes.
- SAE P codes describe DTC cause precisely and are listed in the following tables along with five digit VAG Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC).
- For explanation of DTC types e.g. "0pen circuit/short circuit to ground":

- If components are indicated as inoperative: Check wiring and connectors to these components as well as ground connections using to the wiring diagram. This particularly applies if DTCs are displayed as "occurring sporadically" (SP).

Sporadic DTC

Explanation:
- 16502 = VAG Code
- P0118 = P Code
- 035 = DTC type as a number
- Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62- = Inoperative current path or DTC location
- Signal too high = DTC type as text
- Sporadic DTCs = intermittent DTCs, e.g. loose contact
