Special tools and equipment
- Scan Tool (ST) V.A.G 1551/VAG 1552 with cable VAG 1551/3

Test conditions
- All electrical consumers like e.g. rear window defog must be switched off.
- If equipped with A/C, it must be switched off.
- With an automatic transmission selector lever must be in P or N.
- There may be no DTC's in memory Reading Diagnostic Trouble Codes
- Coolant temperature must be at least 10 °C (50 °F), display group 01, display zone 4.

Work sequence
- With engine at idle connect Scan Tool (ST) VAG 1551/VAG 1552 and select Engine Control Module (ECM) with "Address word" 01 [1][2][3][4][5]Connecting VAG 1551 Scan Tool

- Press buttons -0- and -8- for "Read measuring value block" and confirm with -Q- button.

- Select display group number.


NOTE: Display group number -0- is an example, to illustrate sequence.


- Press buttons -0-, -0- and -0- for "Display group number -0-" and confirm with -0- button.

- If specifications in all display zones are obtained, press button.
