I Subframe, Stabilizer Bar and Control Arm, Overview
CAUTION:
- If a vehicle has to be moved after removing the drive axle, first install the outer CV joint and tighten the nut to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.). Otherwise the wheel bearing will be damaged
- Do not attempt to weld or straighten load bearing suspension components, or components that locate the wheels.
- Always replace self-locking nuts.
- Always replace corroded nuts/bolts.
1. Subframe retaining bracket
2. Welded nut in body
3. Bonded rubber bushing for subframe
4. Self-locking nut
- Always replace
5. Hex bolt M14 x 1.5 x 63
- 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.) + 1/4-turn (90°)
- Always replace
6. Rear bonded rubber bushing for control arm
7. Hex bolt M12 x 1.5 x 70
- Always replace
- 70 Nm (52 ft. lbs.) + 1/4-turn (90°)
8. Plate with nuts
9. Self-locking nut
- Always replace
- 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.)
10. Ball joint
11. Hex bolts
- Always replace
- 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) + 1/4-turn (90°)
12. Control arm
13. Connecting link
14. Hex bolt
- 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.)
15. Self-locking nut
- Always replace
- 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)
16. Stabilizer bar
- Subframe must be lowered to remove and install
17. Socket-head bolt
18. Hex bolt M14 x 1.5 x 95
- Always replace
- 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.) + 1/4-turn (90°)
19. Front bonded rubber bushing for control arm
20. Hex bolt M12 x 1.5 x 82
- Always replace
- 70 Nm (52 ft. lbs.) + 1/4-turn (90°)
21. Hex bolt M10 x 70
- Always replace
- 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) + 1/4-turn (90°)
22. Hex bolt M10 x 30
- Always replace
- 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs. + 1/4-turn (90°)
23. Transmission support
24. Hex bolts
- Always replace
- 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) + 1/4-turn (90°)
25. Stabilizer bar bushing
26. Mounting bracket
27. Hex bolt
- 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
