With Manufacturer Scan Tool

Check DTC Memory (Function 02)

- Connect VAG 1551 scan tool. Scan Tool Connecting and Initial Checks
- Initiate On Board Diagnostic (OBD). On Board Diagnostic (OBD), Initiating Program
- Switch printer on with "PRINT" button (warning lamp in button lights up).
- Press buttons -0- and -2- to select "Check DTC Memory" function 02.

- Press "PRINT" button.
- Press -Q- button to confirm input.

Indicated on display (number of stored DTCs)


X DTC recognized ->


The stored DTCs are displayed and printed out one after the other.
- Eliminate DTCs by referencing DTC table. Restraint Systems

No DTC recognized ->


If "No DTC recognized" is indicated on display, press -> button to return to "Select function XX" prompt.

If something else is displayed:

See Scan Tool (ST) operating instructions.

- End output (function 06).
- Switch ignition off and disconnect VAG 1551 scan tool from Data Link Connector (DLC).


NOTE:
If a DTC is recognized:
- Repair malfunction.
- Erase DTC Memory (function 05).
- Check DTC memory again (function 02).
