Replacement instrument cluster, adaptation (function 10)


NOTE:
- If the 4-digit secret number is not known or the new vehicle key fob with the secret number is not available, the secret number must be requested from the corporate radio/immobilizer code retrieval system by supplying the 14-character immobilizer control module identification number.

- If only the instrument cluster is being replaced, the secret number of the old instrument cluster must be used for adaptation. If all components are being replaced, use the secret number of the new instrument cluster.
- Every instrument cluster has its own secret number


Requirements
Authorized key available.
- Insert old (authorized) key into ignition lock.
- Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST), switch on ignition, select operating mode 1 "Rapid data transfer" and enter address word 17 for "instrument cluster".

- Secret number not accepted. Repeat in put.
- 3 attempts at entering the secret number correctly are possible immediately. The next 3 attempts are not permitted for at least 10 minutes. During this time, the ignition must remain switched on. On Board Diagnostic (OBD) must be also exited using the "End Output" function 06.
- The waiting period between each of the next 3 attempts doubles up to the maximum time of 255 minutes.
