Service
Use the following procedure to remove, clean (molding and channel) and reinstall molding using adhesive.
- Using narrow wedge (Tool No. 3409) -arrow- remove moldings from the top channel of roof without creasing or damaging moldings.
- Use 3M(TM) Glass Cleaner part number 08888 to thoroughly clean molding and roof channel.
Tip: Clean roof channels under windshield molding.
Make sure molding and roof channels are completely dry.
- Apply 1/8 inch wide bead of 3M(TM) Windo-Weld(TM) Super Fast Urethane part number 08609 (obtain from local 3M dealer) at bottom center of channel -arrow-.
Tip: Do not apply excessive adhesive; as urethane clean-up is very difficult.
- Beginning at front or rear of channel, align molding inside channel and press into adhesive.
- Clean off any excess adhesive.
- Use masking tape at windshield and at rear of vehicle to hold molding in place.
Allow 4-5 hours dry time.
Wait 24 hours before washing vehicle.
