Radio volume varies depending on speed of vehicle (customer perceives this as a failed radio).
Technical Background
Speed Volume Control (SVC) is used in Premium VI to increase the audio system volume as vehicle speed increases to compensate for wind/road noise. This may be perceived as a fault of the system.
Production Solution
No production change required.
Service
Explain SVC and the controls to the Customer (see Owners Manual).
To adjust the level of SVC or switch SVC OFF, perform the following:
^ Press and hold the Dolby(R) button for longer than 3 seconds.
A tone will sound and "Set Up Speed Dep. Vol." will appear in the radio display.
Volume level is represented by a numerical value in the display "0" means that the function is turned off.
^ Make adjustments by turning the TUNE knob.
^ 0Press and hold the Dolby(R) button for longer than 3 seconds.
Procedure must be completed with 30 seconds or changes will not be stored.
Tip:
Radio Turn on volume as described in the Owner's Manual is not functional on Premium VI radios.
