High-mount Brake Light - Jetta, Removing And Installing

The high-mount brake light is installed in the rear shelf.

NOTE: The bulb holder base plate contains soldered-in light emitting diodes (LEDs) that are not replaceable. In the event of LED malfunction, replace complete bulb holder.

Removing

CAUTION:
Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Switch ignition off and remove ignition key.

- Disconnect electrical connector from high-mount brake light.
- Remove rear shelf







- Unclip high-mount brake light from rear shelf -arrows-.







- Unclip bulb holder from bulb housing -arrows-.

Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
