Technical Background

Tip:

Improved lock cylinders can be rotated 360 if inward pressure is applied to the key. This is a normal function of the anti-theft design. DO NOT replace the lock cylinder for this condition.

Improved lock cylinders as of VIN: 1K_5M626179.

Service

If customer expresses concerns on this condition:

^ Replace driver's door lock cylinder ONLY. See Required Parts and Tools. (see Repair Manual Body Interior Group 57 - Front doors, Central locking system, Door lock, removing and installing).

Order correct door lock cylinder using Red Order Only.

Order must include VIN and Key Code.
