Premium Sound System Radio Has Poor Reception in Cold/Warm Weather (B2)

INSTRUCTIONS: Perform this procedure on all applicable vehicles within the limited New Vehicle Warranty.
Supersedes T.B. Group 91 number 05-06 dated October 27, 2005 due to addition of Claim code (B2 15 or B2 16) to accommodate Radio Direct Exchange process.
Tip:
This Technical Bulletin is in effect for 12 months from date of publication as listed above. After that date this Technical Bulletin will expire and no longer be in effect.
Condition
Delphi Premium VII radios may have poor reception in cold/warm weather.

Service
Requirements:
Vehicle must meet ALL of the following criteria.
1. Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the B2 code in the OTIS View Campaign inquiry screen on the day of repair shown.
2. Vehicle must be within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.
3. Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Bulletin.

Procedure must also be performed on applicable vehicles in Dealer inventory Procedure:
Note:
Prior to replacing components, record all customer radio complaints. If satellite memory or preset complaints are documented, see part 2 of this bulletin.
Part 1:

The difference is software (see example shown).
- Determine radio software level using VAS Diagnostic tool (white arrow) or see sticker on radio.
- Determining software level in-vehicle, check sticker on radio (white arrow).
If software level is S0011:
- Replace radio (see Repair Manual Electrical Equipment, Group 91 - Communication, Radio - Premium Sound System, removing and installing) (Refer to parts for additional information regarding parts replacement/ordering).
Tip:
Record all Customer preset radio stations before radio removal.
Parts:
If your dealership has the correct replacement radio in stock, please use your inventory to complete the repair. If, however, no stock is available, please follow these guidelines.
^ U.S. Dealers:
- Order correct Delphi replacement radio under the Direct Exchange Program. (See Parts Circular: No. 11-15-05 for more details on the Delphi Radio Direct Exchange Program).
- If you order a replacement radio under the Direct Exchange Program, BE SURE TO RETURN THE CORE TO THE RADIO SUPPLIER, using the same box the replacement unit was shipped to your dealership.

- Order required replacement radio through the Volkswagen Parts Ordering System.

- Replacing radio may lead to DTCs stored in several control modules. Erase all fault memories after installation.
