Radio Speaker, Front Door, Inoperative

Customer may state that one or both front door speakers cut out or are inoperative.

Customer may also state that concern is temporarily repaired by adjusting radio volume control.

Technical Background

Poor connection, wiring harness end connectors -pins- in the door plug at -A- pillar.

Production Solution

No production change required.

Service





^ Replace affected speaker "wiring loom" harness end connector(s) using Wiring Repair Kit VAS 1978A, see the appropriate Repair Manual, Electrical Systems, Group 97 - Wiring Harnesses and Connectors, Repairing in ElsaWeb.

Tip:

Select speaker harness end connectors according to ETKA.

^ Ensure rubber boot is correctly seated after repair to prevent humidity and dirt from entering.
