Sealing Flange, Transmission Side and Dual Mass Flywheel/Drive Plate, Assembly Overview





1 Cylinder block

Removing and installing crankshaft => [ Crankshaft, Assembly Overview ] Crankshaft, Assembly Overview

Piston and connecting rod, disassembling and assembling => [ Pistons and Connecting Rod, Assembly Overview ] Service and Repair

2 Fitting pin

not installed

3 Transmission side sealing flange

with seal

only replaced as complete unit

4 Bolt

Tightening order => [ Transmission side sealing flange, tightening
sequence ]

5 Intermediate plate

must be located on dowel sleeves

do not damage or bend when doing assembly work

Is hooked in at sealing flange => [ Installing intermediate plate ]

6 Bolt

for dual-mass flywheel/drive plate

60 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) additional turn

Replace

7 Dual-mass flywheel/drive plate

Only possible to install in one position - Bores are offset

8 Fitting pin

not installed

Transmission side sealing flange, tightening sequence





- Tighten the bolts - 1 through 8 - in the sequence shown:

- 1. Hand tighten the bolts

- 2. Tighten the bolts to 9 Nm

Installing intermediate plate





- Hook in intermediate plate at sealing flange and push it onto the alignment sleeves - arrows -.
