Horn: Service and Repair
Signal Horns
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)
• High Tone Horn (H2) and Low Tone Horn (H7) are activated in parallel by Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519).
• Removal and installation for High Tone Horn (H2) and Low Tone Horn (H7) is performed in the same way and is only described for one signal horn.
• The High Tone Horn (H7) / Low Tone Horn (H2) are installed on the left and right near the longitudinal members.
Removing
- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.
- Remove front bumper cover.
- Disconnect electrical connection - 1 -.
- Remove the screw - arrow - and remove the horn - 2 - and its retaining plate.
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• When installing the horn, make sure it is not touching any other components around it.
- Tighten the screws, retaining plate to longitudinal member, to 20 Nm.
