Fresh Air Blower Only Operates On Level 4 (High)

^ Speed settings 1-3 do not tunction.

Technical Background

Snow gets into the fresh air blower via the air intake. The thawing water freezes and blocks the blower motor rotation causing the blower motor resistor to fail. As a result, blower speed setting levels 1-3 do not function.

^ Improved blower motor as of VIN AX_BW537148

^ Closed Plenum cover as of VIN AX_BW001312

Service





Note

Replace blower motor with resistor and water deflector.

^ Replace fresh air blower motor with resistor (part number: 1K1 819 015 C/ 1K0 959 263 A). See Repair Manual Group 80 Heating, Ventilation.





^ Install the closed water deflector (part number: 5N1 819 404 A 9B9) on the right side plenum chamber (illustration 1). See Repair Manual Group 66 Exterior Equipment.
