Disarming Air Bag System

WARNING: Do not use the computer memory saver tool on air bag equipped models. Using this tool will keep the system charged and may cause unwanted air bag unit activation. Obtain the radio security code prior to disconnecting the battery ground cable. After service has been completed and the cable connected, use this code to activate the radio.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Wait 20 minutes to allow air bag/Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) capacitor to discharge prior to performing any service procedures.
