Brake Pedal Assy: Service and Repair






Brake Pedal and Booster, Separating and Connecting

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Release Tool (T10189)

Separating

- Remove the driver side trim panel.

- Remove the brake lamp switch/brake pedal switch. Refer to => [ Brake Lamp and Brake Pedal Switch ] Service and Repair.

- Attach the (T10189) at the pressure rod mount in the brake pedal and at the bracket.

3 Retaining lugs

- Press the brake pedal slightly toward the brake booster and secure it.

- Press the (T10189) in the direction of the brake booster, counter hold at the brake pedal (pedal must not move rearward at this point). The mounting retaining lugs - 3 - will thereby be pressed off the ball head of the push rod - 2 -.

- Press the (T10189) farther in the direction of the brake booster and pull the brake pedal toward the driver seat at the same time. (The brake pedal will thereby be pulled off the ball head of the push rod).

Connecting

- Hold the push rod ball head in front of the mount and push the brake pedal toward the brake booster until the ball head engages audibly.





Further installation is in the reverse sequence to removal.

- Install the brake lamp switch/brake pedal switch. Refer to => [ Brake Lamp and Brake Pedal Switch ] Service and Repair.
