Daytime Running Lamp Bulb Inoperative
Technical Background
Under certain conditions (speed, force, temperature, time) the Day Time Running Light (DRL) bulb can be subjected to premature failure. Excessive shock is generated from closing the hood caused by allowing it to drop
from too great of a distance, which could result in premature failure of the DRL bulb filament.

Service
When closing the engine hood following any service or inspection, make sure that the hood is at a distance no greater than 12 inches before allowing the hood to drop closed, as per the vehicle owner guide.
Tip:
12" may be approximately waist height (assuming an average height). When closing the hood above the waist, please lower it before dropping it ensuring 12" are not exceeded.
