Fuel Injector: Description and Operation

The injectors continuously inject fuel into the intake manifold while the engine is running. When the intake valve opens, fuel is drawn into the cylinders. The injectors contain a spring loaded disc type valve that opens at a predetermined pressure. Fuel is atomized as it exits the injectors.
