Fuel Injector: Testing and Inspection

CHECKING INJECTION OPERATION

1. Run engine at above idle speed.





2. Loosen cap nuts on injectors one at a time.
^ Wrap absorbing paper around injectors to prevent spillage.
3. If engine speed remains constant of if knocking disappears, fault may be:
^ Defective injector
^ Defective heat shield
^ Leaking delivery pipe
