Turbo Boost
TESTING PROCEDURE:NOTE: While trouble shooting, always check the wiring, fuses and connectors for good condition and routing. Also check ground locations for good connection. Use the wiring diagrams found in SCHEMATIC DIAGRAMS to supplement your testing efforts.
1. Turn ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect turbo boost ECU connector.
3. Connect a voltmeter between ECU connector pin 3 and ground.
4. Turn ignition ON.
Reading: approx. 12 volts
If not, check turbo boost relay (see TURBO BOOST RELAY).
5. Connect an ohmmeter between pin 4 and ground.
Reading: 0 ohm
If not, repair black wire to ground.
6. Turn ignition OFF.
7. Disconnect all test equipment and reconnect ECU connector.
8. The previous tests eliminate any power supply or ECU ground problems. If an ECU fault is suspected, go by the FLOW OF DIAGNOSIS or see next step.
9. To find the problem, you can test every input and output device. If no faults are found and all wiring, connectors, fuses and the battery are in good condition, replace ECU and retest with known good unit.
