- Gear selector to the neutral position.
Go into DTM 2 in accordance with C. Fault tracing via the DLC. Bosch System [LH/EZK]
-Continue with Checking the park or Neutral position (PNP) JE3.

Checking The Park Or Neutral Position (PNP)
- Gear selector to the Drive position.
The OBD system should respond with the code 1-2-4.

If this response code is obtained:
^ Return to A. How fault tracing is carried out. A. Fault Tracing Chart

If this response code is not obtained:
^ Connecting the test box JE4.

Connecting The Test Box
Connect the test box to MFI and check the connections to GND in accordance with P1-P2. P. Test Box, Signal Description
^ Continue with Checking the PNP resistance JE5.

Checking The Park or Neutral Position (PNP) Resistance
- Ignition off.
Connect an ohmmeter between #30 and #5 GND.



Readings in accordance with the table.

If this value is OK
^ Check the signal from PNP JE6.

If any of the readings are incorrect
^ Check the wiring in the circuit for breaks in accordance with NA2. NA. Checking the Wiring

Checking The Signal From The Park or Neutral Position (PNP)
- Connect the control module to the test box.
- Install fuse 1 (or 31).
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between #30 and #5 GND.
Readings in accordance with the table listed above.

If the reading is OK
^ Repeat DTM 2 JE2.

If any of the readings are incorrect
^ Check the wiring in the circuit for breaks in accordance with NA2. NA. Checking the Wiring
