Checking Leads and Terminals [EA11]

Checking Leads And Terminals

- Check wheel sensor and control module connectors (and, for rear wheel sensors, connectors 24/19, 24/4 and 24/2) for loose contacts as per HA5 and contact resistance and oxidation as per HA6. Checking Leads and Connections [HA]

- Check lead between wheel sensor connect or terminal 1 and control module:

#45 (DTC 1-2-4, 2-1-4, 2-2-4, 3-2-4)
#46 (DTC 1-2-3, 2-1-3, 2-2-3, 3-2-3)
#47 (DTC 1-2-2, 2-1-2, 2-2-2, 3-2-2)
#48 (DTC 1-2-1, 2-1-1, 2-2-1, 3-2-1)

for intermittent open circuit as per HA2, intermittent ground short as per HA3 and intermittent supply short as per HA4. Checking Leads and Connections [HA]

NOTE: On cars with integrated leads to rear wheel sensors, check lead between wheel sensor itself and control module.

- Check lead between wheel sensor connector terminal 2 and control module:

#27 (DTC 1-2-4, 2-1-4, 2-2-4, 3-2-4)
#28 (DTC 1-2-3, 2-1-3, 2-2-3, 3-2-3)
#29 (DTC 1-2-2, 2-1-2, 2-2-2, 3-2-2)
#30 (DTC 1-2-1, 2-1-1, 2-2-1, 3-2-1).

for intermittent open circuit as per HA2, intermittent short to ground as per HA3 and intermittent short to supply as per HA4. Checking Leads and Connections [HA]

NOTE: In cars with integrated cabling to rear wheel sensors, check lead between wheel sensor and control module itself.

If lead is OK: Check that wheel sensor leads are not too close to sources of interference such as electric motors, spark plug leads, mobile telephone leads etc.
