Checking Pedal Sensor Resistance [EB2]
Checking Pedal Sensor Resistance
- Ignition off.
- Remove pedal sensor as per LF. Pedal sensor, replacement. Service and Repair
- Pedal sensor disconnected
Connect an ohmmeter between pedal sensor terminals 1 and 2.
With the pedal sensor tip released (position 1), the ohmmeter should read 224-274 Ohms. If the tip is pressed in, the ohmmeter should read 7 stable resistance, see table.
Move tip both ways as far as it will go. Only spring resistance should be felt; no catching or sticking should occur. Press the tip sideways slightly to find if there is any open circuit in the sensor.
If readings are OK:
- Install pedal sensor as per LF. Pedal sensor, replacement.
- Now continue with 'Checking signal lead resistance' EB3. Checking Signal Lead Resistance [EB3]
If any value is incorrect or pedal sensor tip is sticking:
- Try another pedal sensor as per LF. Pedal sensor, replacement. Service and Repair
