Check Brake Light Switch Tripping [EC7]

Check Brake Light switch Tripping





- Ignition off.
- Disconnect control module.

Connect an ohmmeter between #16 and #41 on test box. Push brake pedal down enough to turn the brake light on, then hold it at that position

Ohmmeter should indicate pedal sensor is in position 1 (224-274 Ohms) or 2 (392-480 Ohms). Now push brake pedal down further until ohmmeter indicates sensor is in position 3 (506-620 Ohms).





Note: Brake light switch should trip (close) before the pedal sensor reaches position 3.

if switch trips OK:
- Intermittent fault EC8. Intermittent Fault [EC8]

If brake light comes on at position 3 or over:
- Check brake light switch adjustment as per LC. Brake light switch , replacement and adjustment. Service and Repair
