Checking Combination Relay [EL11]

Checking Combination Relay

- Ignition off.
- Connect combination relay 4-pin and 15-pin connector.
- Disconnect control module.





First connect a temporary lead to test box between #1 and #34. Then connect other temporary leads between #15 and #1 on test box.





- Ignition on.

Pump motor should start. Maximum cut-in time approx. 20 seconds.

- Ignition off.
- Remove the two temporary leads.

If pump motor starts:
- Fault is due to contact resistance in combination relay 4 and 15-pin connectors. Check connectors for contact resistance and oxidation as per HA6. Contact Resistance and Oxidation [HA6]

If pump motor does not start:
- Try another combination relay.
