Checking Wheel Sensor And Pulse Wheel





- Ignition off.

NOTE: Disconnect wheel sensor.

- Front wheel sensors: Remove wheel for better access.

- Rear wheel sensors: Remove wheel, brake caliper and brake disc as per KF. 'Brake disc, rear, replacement' for better access. Service and Repair

- Replace any wheels, brake calipers and brake discs removed once fault-tracing is complete.

Check that wheel sensor is installed tightly against spindle/hub. Remove any dirt from between sensor and contact surface.

Check that sensor tip looks undamaged.

Check that pulse wheel is mounted properly, is not damaged, cracked etc. (all teeth present).

If wheel sensor and pulse wheel are OK:

Front wheel sensor:
- DTCs for front wheel sensors, 1-2-1, 1-2-2, 2-1-1, 2-1-2, 2-2-1, 2-2-2, 3-2-1 and 3-2-2: Check outlet valves EA10. Checking Outer Valves [EA10]

Rear wheel sensor:
- DTCs for rear wheel sensors, 1-2-3, 1-2-4, 2-1-3, 2-1-4, 2-2-3, 2-2-4, 3-2-3 and 3-2-4: Check parking brake EA9. Checking Parking Brake [EA9]

If wheel sensor/pulse wheel is loose or damaged:
- Reinstall loose wheel sensor as per NA. 'Front wheel sensor, replacement' and NB. 'Rear wheel sensor, replacement. If damaged, deal with as necessary. Service and Repair
